The HMS Stubburn is a WWII S-class submarine. It is 66m long and can be found resting upright on a sandy bottom at 60 meters of water about five kilometres out of St. Paul's Bay. She was scuttled there by the Royal Navy in 1946 for deep water sonar testing.

This wreck, although unprotected, is still very much intact. Dropping down into the blue and following the shot line, one will be amazed at the magical appearance of this WWII relic as soon as you reach about 30 meters. As you continue going down the rope, the tower comes into view, surrounded by shoals of Damsel fish and Breams. The Torpedo tubes are quite visible at both ends of the sub. Other marine life in the area includes Groupers, Scorpion fish, Morays, sponges, and soft corals. Barracudas, Trigger fish, Stingrays and Bonitos have also been spotted occasionally.

WARNINGS: This Boat dive is for the very experienced divers ONLY and should be done with one of the local dive centres. Strong currents can be encountered at times so dive only in calm sea conditions. Due to the depth and time limits, make sure you watch your decompression time, and have stage decompression cylinders at 5 or 10 meters. Unless you are a trained DO NOT try to penetrate the wreck.
