White Reef or Hoofer's Reef is one of the few dive sites that have to be dived by boat. It is a rocky reef with many algae covered boulders. Jacks, bream, groupers, barracudas and many of the other common species in the Maltese waters can be seen.
Gurbel Reef, part of White Reef, is one of the few boat dive sites in Malta. After a 5 minute boat ride you will arrive at a reef which is famous for its unusual rock formations and many algae covered boulders. Some of the fish species which are common are cardinal fish, mullet, scorpion fish and brown meagre which has given this site its name.
