One of the more famous cave dives in Gozo is named the Blue Dome or Cathedral Cave right into Ghasri Valley. To get there you have to climb down already geared up over 100 steps cut out of the rocks. Rain the night before can make it a very hazardous climb so be extra careful then. The entrance of the cave starts in about 6 meters from where you can dive all the way to the dome. It is named blue dome because of its spectacular brilliant blue sunlight which is coming through from its arch like entrance beneath the water. Boulders which are covered in sponges, damselfish, seabreams and some scorpion fish will be seen as well. Although a heavy start and an even heavier walk back it is definitely worth all the effort. The blue dome and underwater views are spectacular at the least.
