Dragonara point is a small rocky point of shore line located directly below the Dragonara Casino at St. Georges Bay St. Julian's. Access from shore is difficult nowadays as you must enter via the private beach of The Draganara Hotel, which is often forbidden for non guests during summer. You can also get here through the Cresta Quay Beach Club, but is a long swim.
I used to dive this site a lot when I worked at the nearby Cresta Diving Centre. In the shallow water under the casino there are some huge concrete blocks which have become a sort of artificial reef, and are a haven for small fish, crabs and octopuses. This leads to a drop off to the north which finishes on a sandy seabed between 15 and 20 meters. To the west one can descent to 25 meter. There is a lot of water sport activity, especially jet skies during the summer months. Divers should be very careful and use a service marker buoy.
