Best dive-season / How to get there: Xlendi Bay is reached by following the signs from the capital city Victoria. The best dive centre to use in the area is St. Andrews Divers Cove near the San Andrea Hotel. The dive site can be dived all year round but it is best during the summer months when there is a lot of life. It is best to avoid the site during rough sea conditions or after rain as the visibility is very poor and it becomes very difficult to locate the cave.

The entrance to Xlendi Cave is easily found from shore by entering the water on the left hand side of the valley by the 5th ladder and following a compass heading of 300 degress. The tunnel entrance is located only 2 meter deep on the cliff side. Because of this shallow depth it is also popular at night. The cave has many starfish, sponges, goatfish damsel and cardinal fish. The cave is relativly safe for all levels of divers as it is not a true overhead enviroment as you can surface in many parts of the cave. A typical dive is to do the cave at the beginning of the dive, swim thru the tunnel exit on the far side of the cliff and then follow the cliff face to the left back into Xlendi bay. During the summer months you can often see large shoals of Barracuda near Xlendi reef on the way back.
